Who is Jessica Plummer?

Jessica Plummer tragically lost her 17-year-old son, Shaquan Sammy Plummer, in a knife attack in Enfield in 2015. Shaquan was stabbed to death while trying to protect his friend from a gang of attackers.

The loss of her son has had a profound impact on Jessica, and she has become an advocate for anti-knife crime initiatives. In an emotional interview with The Sun in 2019, Jessica spoke about the pain of losing her son and her commitment to raising awareness about the issue.

She said, “I want people to understand that there is no coming back from this. When someone is taken from you, they are gone forever. I just want to use my platform to help raise awareness about knife crime and to try and prevent other families from going through what we’ve been through.”

Since then, Jessica has been involved in various campaigns and initiatives aimed at tackling knife crime and supporting victims’ families. She has also used her social media platforms to speak out about the issue and share her personal experience. Jessica is a regular speaker at the Old Bailey Criminal Court where she talks to young people at the cusp of youth violence.

The tragic loss of Shaquan is a devastating reminder of the devastating impact of knife crime in our communities. The evening Anthony, the director of Education for the Foundation, launched www.talktojess.co.uk a simple confidential information-sharing platform for young people to help us take knives off the street. e.
